Cosmo PH fails avid fans of bachelor bash

Cosmo PH fails avid fans of bachelor bash

- One of the most-awaited events every year is Cosmopolitan Magazine Philippines' Cosmo Bachelor Bash, where the chosen bachelors of the year will showcase their goods in front of a female (and gay) audience

- However, there will be no bash for this year, which was confirmed by the magazine on its Instagram account

- Cosmo Bachelor Bash has since become a grand event after its inception in 2002, held at a defunct resto in Makati

If For Him Magazine (FHM) has its annual Sexiest event, where scantily-clad women sashay on the catwalk,  so does the local version of Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Every September, women (and gays) in the country get treated to a parade of shirtless hunks with Cosmo's Bachelor Bash, where some of the hottest male celebrities walk its ramp topless and sometimes, with a bit of a costume.

However, it looks like the magazine won't hold the bash this year.

In one of Cosmopolitan PH's posts on Instagram, a user named @juddttorres asked if the event will happen soon. Another user, @imfl, followed up with the same question. The latter even tagged Myrza Sison, who serves as the editorial director of the magazine.

The handler of the magazine's Instagram account replied soon after, confirming the greatest fear of the show's patrons - there will be no bachelor bash this year.

"We are deeply grateful for the love and support you have given Cosmo for the last 19 years. We have always cherished and enjoyed your participation in all our events and have learned so much from all of you!", the comment started, "This year, much to our regret, there will be no Cosmo Bachelor Bash, but please be assured that more fun and fearless events from Cosmo are coming your way."

Last month, the magazine held a Beauty Block at SM Megamall Fashion Hall, where Cosmo Girls (CGs for short) were treated to a beauty buffet where they can shop the latest products and get makeovers.

However, most of the magazine's avid followers know that the invite to the bachelor bash already goes on print in its August issue but there were none for this year.

The event started in 2002, where it was held in a now-defunct Dish at Power Plant Mall. It became a social gathering where girls and their gay friends bond together over their mutual love of fine male specimens.

It would have been the 14th anniversary of the bash if it did push through this year, but apparently the magazine did not release their reason why the event was postponed.

Netizens, on the other hand, were mostly disappointed at the fact that they won't be seeing the bachelors for this year as well as the celebrities who will grace the event.

There were those who were more disappointed as the event served as their chance to see hot males, given that the Bench Fashion Show has already wrapped up two years ago. The clothing brand's yearly show is like a mix between FHM and Cosmo's events, where sexy male and female celebrities walk down wearing close to nothing.
