A video of a street child sneaking up on a car with an open window and then grabbing the bag from the passenger seat during a traffic jam had gone viral.
The footage shows several cars caught up in traffic on a bridge in Metro Manila. A few moments later, a street child can be seen sneaking up on a red car with an open window on the passenger side.
After the vehicle had a full stop due to the traffic jam, the sneaky street child immediately grabbed the handbag and ran away. The thief can be seen at the end of the video going over the bridge barrier in order to escape and hide.
Netizens were shocked that such a crime could happen in public and in the middle of the road.
Several online users urged drivers to always keep their car windows closed when driving.
“Lagi nyo sasara bintana nyo at mga pintuan ng kotse,” a netizen advised.
(Always have your car windows and doors locked.)
Some netizens also expressed their outrage, saying that thieves should be killed along with the drug lords, pushers and users in the country.
“Eto masarap lagyan ng karatula at butasan agad s ulo,” an online user said.
(This kind of people should be shot in the head and be given a cardboard signage.)
The netizen is referring to the cardboard signage usually attached to the bodies of executed drug suspects to let the public know that the dead are involved in illegal drugs.
