President Rodrigo Duterte who has been criticized due to his administration's war against drugs admitted yesterday that he killed the man who raped the wife of a police.
During the 2016 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos awards ceremony yesterday at the Rizal Hall in Malacanang, Duterte revealed that he indeed killed the man.
He said: “Pinatay ko talaga yung tatlo. I made them pay for what they did. Pinatay ko, walang kaawa-awa. ”
(I killed the three. I made them pay for what they did. I killed them, without any pity.)
According to the president, he just made the man pay for the crime he did and that pity is not in his vocabulary.
“E ‘bat ako maaawa? Pity is not one of my virtues,” Duterte added.
(Why should I pity? Pity is not one of my virtues.)
President Duterte stressed during the awards ceremony that he will continue his administration's campaign against illegal drugs so that the next generation will not be compromised. He also said that he is willing to go to prison of only drug menace will be eliminated.
Duterte stated: “I do not promise you perfect peace because this is not heaven. But I commit myself to do everything, not to compromise the next generation."
Duterte also explained that he declared drug war because it will not be solved by the police alone, the reason why he raised the campaign to the level of a national security threat and called the army and the military for assistance.
Duterte was said to have an alleged involvement in the Davao Death Squad (DDS), a vigilante group in Davao City that is responsible for summary killings of criminals and drug traffickers here.
