With just one day away, foodies and hawkers alike will get the chance to feast on various street dishes from ten countries, as Bonifacio Global City in Taguig plays host to the World Street Food Congress (WSFC).
For the first time in three years, organizers decided to bring WSFC to the Philippines. It is usually held in Singapore. The five-day event will start on April 20 and last until April 24.
Up to 25 participating food stalls will cater to the show offering unique and iconic street food items from the US, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. Food prices start at Php 200. Entrance to the food jamboree is for free.
WSFC will also feature a two-day dialogue with the theme "The Comforting Flavours of Home." Influential food-related personalities and bloggers from Asia will share their insights in the said sideshow on April 20 and 21 at 7th Avenue and 25th Street, BGC.
Speakers included in the dialogue are Stephen Werther (The Bourdain Market founder),
Filipino blogger Anton Diaz (Our Awesome Planet), and Woo Wai Leong (Masterchef Asia Season 1 winner).
To cap off the event, the World Street Food Awards will honor the best players and professionals in five categories: Best 20 Street Food Masters, Best Street Food City, Best Street Food Concept/Restaurant, Best Writer/Commentator/Blogger, and Best Publication.
