Some people meet their mates in life in the school or even before that. Others find love at work or walking down the street. However, this girl got 33 without bumping into someone she would want to marry. Why she married a complete stranger and how it all turned out? Read her story to find out!
“My name is Kathy and I was 33, when I decided to get married no matter what. A friend of mine signed me up for the program “Marry, a stranger”. I had to go through a thorough screening and answer 800 questions. My future husband had to do the same.
They took me in, and I got few weeks to prepare for the wedding and plan the whole thing. Until the marriage day, I did not meet my husband. I was a complete stranger to him. I know, it sounds crazy and so I was told by my friends and family.
Luckily I never dreamed of planning my wedding for months, picking flowers and attending to all those details. But one thing I enjoyed greatly: picking my wedding gown. I tried to do my best to look beautiful and attractive for my man.
The wedding day morning was like a dream. I could not believe what I was doing. I was about to meet the man, my husband, but I never saw him, not even once! No wonder my brother thought I was doing a crazy thing.
When I entered the room, a chill went down my back. I saw an elderly man in his 50ss standing by the altar. I never gave permission to pick me a senior! But luckily that was only a waiter! My man looked young and beautiful. I was much attracted to him.
Apparently, he liked me, too. Our families met. My folks just loved him and his sister, and I have become friends for life. After the ceremony was over, the fairytale ended. I won’t say our life was all that happy and pleasant afterward.
We needed much time to get to know each other and get used to each other. You may want to know: did I regret my decision? No! Not even once! So, I married a complete stranger, and I am not sorry for it!”
Her story is beautiful and inspiring. It shows us that even two strangers can find love and affection for each other in marriage if they decide to make it work!
