President Rodrigo Duterte has once again been n a controversy when he cursed the president of the United States, Barack Obama and warned the latter not to raise concerns on human rights to him.
It has not only become the talk of the town in both countries but the cursing controversy also reached other parts of the world, including Japan.
A Japanese morning show aired a news about President Duterte's verbal attack against President Obama. In a part of the report, the show included a trivia about what President Duterte uttered when he cursed the US president.
A screenshot of the said trivia went viral on the internet. The photo showed the exact curse President Duterte said with its Japanese translation. The show indicated that the curse if translated, would mean "son of a prostitute".
The morning show has not yet been identified. The countries version of Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) allowed the foul words to be aired since it is in Filipino and the purpose of the show is to inform its audience.
One Facebook user reacted on the said photo and said: "Dito sa japan maingat ang mga media dahil pag nakasira sila ng reputasyon mahirap o mayaman yari sila !! Dito batas ang pinapairal hindi pera."
Another user said: "P*t*ng*n*, buti pa sa Japan. Iniintindi muna bago humusga."
One user even explained how the curse was just an expression: "Mababang uri ng tao lng ang nd nkagets s p*t*ng *n* it means expresion dahil galit k pero akala mu lng ikaw ung minura dhil s narinig mo xa n ngmura."
The two leaders had a short discussion during the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) dinner.
Obama previously canceled their supposed meeting after Duterte's remark and feared that the meeting would not be as productive.
