'Badjao Girl' Rita Gaviola on PBB and career

Rita Gaviola's star is just rising, now that she is out of the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) house.

Although her stint might be short-lived, she left one of the most controversial moments in the show.

The video of her housemates playing with her undergarments went viral, which made her infuriated and embarrassed. She was washing the dishes when she heard of their commotion, and when she realized that it was her belonging that they were making fun of, she stopped what she was doing and immediately grabbed her undergarment without saying a word.

During yesterday's episode of 'Tonight with Boy Abunda', the talk show host asked her if she felt bullied inside the house.

"Hindi ko po alam kung na-bully o nag-react lang," she started, "Kasi ako, hindi ko naman alam na strap pala ng bra ko iyon kasi naghuhugas po ako ng mga plato, iyong pinagkainan namin. Iyong mga babae at lalaki ay nandoroon, at hindi ko alam kung akin iyong [bra]."

(I don't know if I was bullied or I just overreacted. Personally, I did not think that it was my bra strap because I was washing the dishes, the ones we ate from. The girls and boys were there, and I didn't know if the bra they were making a fuss about was mine.)

"Tahimik lang ako sa paghuhugas tapos bigla kong kinuha nang wala akong sinasabi. Parang nahiya po kasi ako sa mga boys kasi strap po ng bra ko iyong pinaglalaruan," she ended her statement.

(I was just quietly washing the dishes and then I took it [the bra] without saying a word. I felt embarrassed in front of the boys because it was my bra strap they [the girls] were playing with.)

When asked what were the lessons she learned inside the house, she repeated what Kuya told her previously.

"Dapat lagi po akong masaya, dapat ako maging matapang, huwag laging mahiya, at huwag laging nakasimangot. At huwag daw pong tampuhin."

(I should be happy all the time, I should be brave, I should not be shy, and I shouldn't always be frowning. And I should not be in a surly mood.)

She shared that Vivory Esclito-Go is her bet to win the reality competition, praying that the Bicolana will be given a chance to prove herself worthy of the competition.

Gaviola was evicted last Saturday when she failed to accumulate enough points on a challenge that nominated housemates such as Kristine Hammond, Christian Morones, and Heaven Peralejo, partook in.

What are her plans now that her PBB stint is over?

"Pangarap ko pong maging artista pero gusto ko po siyang pagsabayin sa pag-aaral ko. Para habang nag-aaral ako ay natutulungan ko na rin po iyong mga magulang ko," she said.

(It is my dream to become an actress but I want to pursue it at the same time with my studies. While I am studying, I can also help my parents.)

Her interview with Abunda turned into a fun conversation when she was asked who is her favorite love team and who would she like to be paired up with.

The crew went hysterical when she gave her answers - McCoy De Leon and Elisse Joson was her chosen pairing while Marco Gallo is her dream leading man.
