Jennylyn Mercado has proven her versatility as an actress and was able to land projects with leading men hailing from her home network’s rival, ABS-CBN.
But does Jennylyn have anyone particular in mind she likes to work with?
Apparently, she does. The Kapuso artist expressed her wishes of being paired with Piolo Pascual in the future.
In an interview with Inquirer, the 29-year old confessed that if given the opportunity, she would probably end up being ‘starstruck’ and ‘staring at him’ for a long time. She even went to admit that the similar thing happened when she first met John Lloyd for their previous film, “Just The 3 Of Us.”
The blockbuster hit was released earlier this year, following her former successful movies “Walang Forever,” “The Prenup,” and “English Only, Please.”
However, a film with the Kapamilya hunk actor is still not in the works.
On the other hand, the actress was supposed to star in a movie with Coco Martin as an entry for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Unfortunately, the film fell through due to a conflict in schedule.
Jennylyn remains to be hopeful and was keen on ‘prioritizing’ her projects in GMA-7 as she recently renewed her contract with the network.
For now, she focuses on trying her best as the host in a new celebrity singing contest called “Superstar Duets,” which have premiered over the weekend.
“It’s not my forte – I’m scared of it!” The actress shared. She added that she had to undergo several workshops for her current stint, and was grateful that she has a supportive staff to back her up.
When asked about her reaction regarding the hate posts about her possible pairing with Alden Richards for the remake series of “My Love From The Star,” Jennylyn simply brushed them off.
“I don’t read tweets if I can help it,” she said. Moreover, she urged Alden to remain with his popular love team, AlDub, with Maine Mendoza as the other half.
“They’re doing well; it would be great if they stick together for now,” Jennylyn quipped.
Jennylyn Mercado broke through the entertainment industry when she joined reality talent search “Starstruck” back in 2003. She has also ventured on other works apart from acting such as singing and being a songwriter.
