- Events host Tim Yap said that his bars are drug-free and he is not a drug pusher
- Yap said that the allegations are untrue, hurtful, and unfair
- Yap is ready to work with authorities to assure them that no drugs enter the bars he co-owns
Events host and bar owner Tim Yap clarified that the bars that he co-owns are drug-free.
As the war on drugs shifted on high-end bars and party venues, reports claimed that Yap was on the list of celebrities supplying the party drug ecstasy. Moreover, the TV and events host was often flying out of the country to allegedly escape the laws and the authorities.
This is clearly denied by Yap. In an interview with DZBB, Yap said that he is not hiding from the law. He has also been in the party scene for so long and his position as host and co-owner of bars makes him visible in the party scene.
“Sa akin, medyo below the belt na paratangan ako na nagbebenta ng droga (For me, the allegations that I am a drug pusher are below the belt),” he said.
“Hindi po porke't nandoon ako sa party scene, hindi porke't nasa bars ako at sa events, e, ako po'y nagsu-supply. Hindi po totoo ito. For me, napakasakit, napaka-unfair. It's something that na hindi ko inakalang ever maa-attach sa pangalan ko (Not because I am at the party scene and not because I am in the bars and events, I supply the drugs. This is not true. For me, it is hurtful and unfair. It is something that I never thought my name will be dragged into),” Yap quickly added.
In order to prove his innocence and his clean conscience, Yap said that he is ready to work with the authorities on its campaign against illegal drugs. He assured that no drugs enter the bars that he is a partner.
Tim Yap co-owns some of the high-end bars like Aracama, Prive, Valkyrie Nightclub in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, as well as Gramercy in Makati City.
