– 74-year-old man escaped from his nursing home in Mexico
– Police came to his family telling they found someone fitting the description, but already dead
– That body was cremated, family mourned on losing grandfather, but he showed up in 2 months
Miguel Angel Gomar De Luna, 74-year-old man from Chihuahua, Mexico escaped from his nursing home and was declared missing.
Shortly after local police found already partially decomposed body of an unidentified man fitting Miguel's age and general appearance.
Family members weren't actually sure that this body actually belonged to their beloved grandfather, but the police emphasized that in case of no confirmation they won't have an opportunity to claim the body and have proper funeral service.
Under these mixed circumstances De Luna's daughter agreed to sign all the papers and confirmed that dead man was her father, despite her doubts and the fact he actually wasn't...
The body of an unknown man was cremated and the ashes took their place in family's house. But in two months police came to their family again, this time with alive man, Miguel De Lima himself.
He was terribly drunk and admitted he was on a bender all this time, whole two months. It was his 'goal' when he fled from the nursing home in the first place, he just wanted to get drunk, little did he know how everything would twist in the end.
'They thought I was dead, but I just walk and walk.' — grandfather said.
