Truck racer Bryce Menzies just set the world record for the biggest truck jump ever!
Watch him fly his 888bhp extreme off-roader 115 meters through the air in the middle of a ghost town in New Mexico.
Bryce is a 29-year-old off-road racer from Las Vegas that races for team Red Bull. He and his team had been preparing for this jump for about 6 months. The crew had performed multiple trial runs before to test Bryce’s trick truck for the big jump. By looking at the results of these tests the team adjusted Bryce’s truck by fine-tuning its suspension and aerodynamics.
However, Menzies didn’t just break the world record. On his second attempt the racer crashed his truck, resulting in broken shoulder.
“We broke a world record, which is incredible; we went 379 (115 meters) feet flying a truck! This has been my dream and to see it come to life was surreal — it was one of the greatest moments of my life,” said Bryce Menzies.
He added: “I’m so glad I did it. I came away with a broken shoulder, that’s not bad at all, and I’m just glad I’m in the record books.”
