Prayers for a peaceful heart as we sleep

Prayers for a peaceful heart as we sleep

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." - Colossians 3:15

As the day ends, let us pray and surrender our dreams to God, that He may forgive the wrongs of the day. Let us ask the Lord to speak to us in our sleep, that we may all find peace for our troubled hearts and souls.

Dear Father, you have granted us another day of life to be Your light in this world.

Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your sunshine, our families, and Your Word today

For Your patience and direction that guided our thoughts, words, and actions today,

It truly was another blessed day because You were in it, Lord.

As we now end our day's work, we praise and thank You, Lord

As we end the day, we pray for all whose lives have been touched by tragedy,

for those who died - whether by accident or by a deliberate act.

Immerse them in your love, Father, and lead them through this darkness.

For those who mourn, let there be comfort

As we all go to bed tonight, lead us into your arms,

We pray for those who have no regard for anyone but self,

Grant, that as we sleep tonight, may we all see the value of human life.

Bless us, o Lord, that tonight those individuals who abuse and kill,

may find You in their hearts as they sleep.

We know that we are not called to be judge or jury, Father, and we pray

that You bless us all that we may all be tomorrow's agents of change.

As we close our eyes tonight, we pray for loved ones,

for friends and those who need to know you, Lord.

We pray that your love, like the billions of stars in the night sky outside,

will touch them and help them see who you really are.

We pray for peaceful recovery as we sleep, Lord

Touch us with Your healing hands, that our broken hearts and spirits may mend.

Grant us a good night's sleep, Father God

that we may wake up refreshed and with a joyful smile, not a grumpy spirit.

This, we ask in Jesus name.

Amen.
