When the Archers set their feet on the court, any team in the opposing end has a reason to fear defeat. Though many fear the great green and white opponent, some believe that the unstoppable Animos are indeed stoppable.

Choaches Eric Altamirano and Nash Recela, two respective UAAP coaches, who were able to win championships, said that they are not intimidated by the great LaSallians. They know La Salle’s strengths and desire for the championship titles, but they too know their strengths and have a desire to win. It all comes down to who wants it more.

Eric Altamirano, head coach of the National University, confidently states in regards to LaSalle, “They’re just like any other team. They’re a collegiate team and there’s no guarantee that they can win every game.”

Nash Recela, coach of Far Eastern University men’s basketball team, also sates, “The only thing I could say is that there’s always a weakness. There’s always a breaking point. It’s always like that and it’s for us seven other teams to look for that and find that out.”

Both coaches have proved their words by helping bring back the championship to the colleges that they coach. They acknowledge La Salle’s capacity to win in any sport and their numerous victories in this past decade. But they also say that that does not make the Green Archers invincible.

Racela admits that the Archers are capable to win and that is largely thanks to their experience. He states that that is what makes them have an edge in any game.

Altamirano says the same thing, but says it is mostly fueled by their wining experiences. Altamirano says, “Based on their performance in the preseason, you can see that they know how to win and that’s already an advantage, they already have that confidence aside from the materials. They already know how to win.” Kami Media
