- Ronaldo “Bato” Dela Rosa gave a speech at the Region VI Police Office in Iloilo City where he touched on Melvin Odicta, his denial of being a drug lord
- He said that he does not believe Odicta, and that the latter should “Tell it to the marines!”
- Bato said that if drug lords can pay people before, now they can no longer do it
PNP Chief Dir. Gen. Ronaldo “Bato” Dela Rosa does not believe Melvin Odicta when he says that he is not a drug lord.
On Thursday, Odicta went to Camp Crame to clear his name. His wife also went with him.
“Nag-surrender kuno doon sa Maynila, pero hindi sa akin nag-surrender. Dini-deny na hindi daw siya drug lord,” said Dela Rosa, referring to Odicta’s surrender.
(He purportedly surrendered in Manila, but didn’t surrender to me. He purportedly denies that he is a drug lord.)
Bato tackled Odicta’s denial during his speech at the Region VI Police Office in Iloilo City.
“Ano siya? Sinong niloloko niya? Kayo? Di ba alam ninyo na siya ang drug lord tapos magdi-deny na hindi siya drug lord? Tell it to the marines!” Dela Rosa added.
(What is he? Who is he fooling? You? Isn’t it that you know that he is a drug lord, and then he would deny that he is a drug lord? Tell it to the marines!)
Melvin Odicta and his wife met with Interior Secretary Mike Sueno to “surrender” at Camp Crame. Odicta claims that they are already being threatened because of suspected links to illegal drugs.
Although both Odicta and his wife were advised to see Bato, they opted to meet with Sueno instead.
“Meron kayong kilalang mga drug lords dito. Napaka-influential na kayang magbayad ng fiscal, ng police, ng judge. Lahat puwedeng bayaran dahil sa napakaraming pera. Puwedeng magpapatay ng tao, ng police, o sinumang gusto nilang ipapatay dahil sa dami ng pera nila,” said the PNP Chief too.
(You all know who the drug lords here are. They are very influential, that they can pay a fiscal, a police or a judge. Everyone can be paid because they have lots of money. They could also have a civilian killed, a police, or anyone whom they want because of the money that they have.)
Bato said that now, people should tell the drug lords that before, they can pay anybody, but now, they can no longer do the same. – SD, Kami Media
