Need a little help in updating the look of your abode? Or do you need assistance in organizing it? Fret not, let the stars be your guide on this journey - visually, that is.
Let us take a cue from Kapamilya actress/singer Angeline Quinto, who has finally fulfilled her dream home.
'Rated K', a Filipino lifestyle show hosted by broadcaster Korina Sanchez, was given permission to tour inside the house last year.
The exterior of the house is a stark white, which is complemented with a lot of green - either in plants or furniture. Quinto also has some of the doors in her house embossed with stars because of her deep connection with the celestial body.
In a magazine feature, however, she admitted that she can become quite obsessive compulsive (OC) with her prized possessions, such as her shoes and bags.
Since her house has been covered by both print and TV, there are pictures that we can take inspiration from to update our homes from drab to fab - and some of them you can do on a budget.
Here are six ways you can improve your home to make it fresher, cleanlier and more organized!
1. The bigger the windows, the better.
Not only does this make a space larger than it seems, it is also easier to maintain. If you don't want to be too exposed, you can always have them tinted or just use appropriately-sized blinds.
2. Glass stair railings add instant class.
If you have the means to have your stair railings done this way, do it! It instantly makes the house look more polished and sleek. Who doesn't want that in their home?
3. Art not only looks good on museum walls but also in your home.
One of the best ways to decorate a home is by using framed artwork on areas where there are blank spaces - but don't go crazy filling it all up. Leave a space for the eye to rest from one piece to another.
4. Bold and printed bed covers pop up against a plain bed.
There is nothing like bright colors and loud prints that make a plain bed look like a fun place to sleep in.
5. Movable shelves are better than shoe boxes for your shoe collection.
Don't let your precious pairs be discarded and almost forgotten in their shoe boxes, display them neatly with others in movable shelves! It will also make it easier for you to choose what pair to wear for the day.
6. Replace plain old closet doors with sliding mirrored ones instead.
A mirrored closet door hits two birds with one stone - not only does it make your room larger, it also makes it easier for you to view what you put on without moving to another area. Mirrors are indeed a magical creation!
Despite the minimalist interior of Quinto's house, don't be discouraged to try these tips. More or less, you already have some of these items in your house. If you do not, then you can always take note of it for your dream house.
