A video of a woman doing leg press and then breaking her legs in the process had gone viral, with the online community disturbed with the painful freak accident.
The footage starts off innocently enough, with the woman effortlessly doing some leg press workout. The leg press is one of the most popular lower body exercises in the gym.
This exercise can tone and strengthen the legs, gluteus maximus, hamstring, and quadriceps.
However, her legs suddenly broke after her third attempt! The man nearby immediately rushed to the scene to help her out.
Many netizens were horrified by the injury and were scared of doing the same set of exercise in the gym.
“I don't think I ever wanna do leg press ever again,” a netizen said.
Some online users believed that the reason for the accident was that there was too much weight on the leg press machine.
“This is how not to do a leg press! The trainer had the client using too much weight,” a netizen pointed out.
Others believed that the accident happened when she rested her knees while doing the leg press exercise.
“This is why you never lock your knees while doing leg press. As long as you always keep your knees slightly bent while doing leg press, you'll be fine,” an online user explained.
The poor woman probably had to spend a lot of time trying to recover from her extreme injury. She also probably had to undergo a long and painful process of physical therapy.
Hopefully, this video can help people become more careful and wary when exercising and using equipment and fitness machines in the gym. Exercising is meant to strengthen a person’s body and not destroy it.
