- Forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun left a snarky comment on Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte's pregnancy on her Twitter account
- The feisty mayor replied not just once, but twice on Fortun, with the latest being a song dedication on her Instagram account
- Fortun took back her comment prior to Duterte's post yesterday, wishing the mayor well on her pregnancy
Sometimes, a lengthy post is not enough to keep detractors off your back - dedicating a song to them may be able to make them calm and call it a truce.
Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte was not content with Dr. Raquel Fortun's scathing remark over her pregnancy, she also had to dedicate a song to the forensic pathologist.
Last Thursday, August 19, Duterte's pregnancy was published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, which was commented on by Fortun in their Twitter account.
The president's eldest daughter is in the seventh week of her pregnancy and is said to be expecting triplets. This is also her second pregnancy which she had to undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Her first pregnancy with her son Sting was the result of the same process.
However, Fortun was not buying it and tweeted in reply to Inquirer's post: “Too early to rejoice over 7weeker lalo na triplets (especially they are triplets). Wait for delivery and spare oneself from heartache. PR for Lolo (Is it PR for the grandfather)?”
The Davao City mayor took to Instagram to air out her side in response to Fortun's comment, admitting that it was indeed PR but it was for the people she serves. Recently, she has not graced the public with her presence since her doctor advised her not to attend public gatherings to avoid catching infections.
According to a previous report by Davao City Information Office Jefry Tupas, Duterte's pregnancy is a difficult and delicate matter that needs extra precautions to maintain.
But the feisty mayor is not yet done with Fortun as she dedicated a song to Fortun yesterday, August 22, on the same social media platform.
In the post, she took a screenshot of the song she was listening to which was 'My Own Worst Enemy' by American rock band Lit.
Duterte quoted the last verses of the song, which was released on their sophomore album 'A Place in the Sun' before the turn of the 21st century.
Netizens were divided in her latest comeback: there were those who advised her not to pay attention to haters since stress might affect her pregnancy and there were those who thought that she was overreacting with this second remark.
Comments on Instagram were mostly of the former, while the latter was evident in entertainment blog site 'Fashion Pulis'.
There were those who took a dig on Fortun, questioning her sexuality or fertility.
But before Duterte posted her second response, the forensic psychologist took to Twitter once again to stop the backlash she has been getting from netizens.

She admitted that she has not questioned Duterte's pregnancy and added that the process is indeed laborious.
“Came from work haven’t read everything on my TL (timeline) yet. I never doubted your pregnancy Mayor Duterte I do wish you well. Had 2 miscarriages myself,” she wrote.
Do you think Inday should have shared what she thought was a fitting song for Fortun or should she just have kept it to herself?
