- Aga Muhlach ended speculations after he signed a contract with ABS-CBN today
- Aga's first project is to serve as judge for ABS-CBN’s upcoming talent search show while he is scheduled to have another movie with Lea Salonga, his loveteam back in the 1990s
- Aga has been with ABS-CBN for two decades before he spent three years with TV 5
Aga Muhlach is making a comeback as a Kapamilya after he signed a contract with ABS-CBN, ending weeks of speculations.
There is more! The actor is also slated to have a movie with Lea Salonga, fulfilling Star Cinema’s earlier promise that an Aga-Lea movie will happen this year.
It can be recalled that Star Cinema Managing Director Malou Santos made the announcement during the Chat with the Chairman event earlier this month.
Aga and Lea are best known for their tandem back in the 1990’s. They made a hit movie entitled Sana Maulit Muli in 1995 while their first movie together was Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal released in 1992.
Earlier reports also revealed that Lea was instrumental in convincing Aga to take on the job. “Lea called Aga and convinced him to accept the offer,” an earlier published Manila Times report stated.
The contract signing took place today, August 18, and was witnessed by ABS-CBN president and chief executive officer Carlo Katigbak, Head of Finance for Broadcast and Integrated News and Current Affairs Cat Lopez, and ABS-CBN chief operating officer for Broadcast Cory Vidanes.
Before his contract signing event, the still-hot actor posted a photo of ABS-CBN’s iconic broadcast tower. His caption? “Long time no see!!!”
Aga’s first project is ABS-CBN’s upcoming talent search show, the Pinoy Boyband Superstar, where he would serve as one of the judges.
The other judges are Vice Ganda, Sandara Park, and Yeng Constantino.
The 47-year-old actor-TV host first joined the entertainment industry under ABS-CBN and spent two decades as a talent before he jumped networks and transferred to TV5 in 2011.
His last stint before his transfer was the sitcom That’s My Doc. On the other hand, he only had two projects under TV 5: the now-defunct shows Pinoy Explorer and Let's Ask Pilipinas.
Since the start of his career, Aga already has more than 60 movies under his belt. -Kami Media
