- UPeepz, a dance group based in University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, was created in 2011 by a group of friends who love to dance, which eventually turned into an organization where even non-UP students can join for the love of dancing
- The dance troupe won the recently-concluded 2016 World Hip Hop Dance Competition in the MegaCrew division
- Another local-based group - Philippine All-Stars - won the competition prior to UPeepz, winning both Hip-Hop and Breaking dance categories successively
Filipinos really have it in them to become world-class talents in whatever field they choose - be it in sports, theater or the music industry.
However, they also have what it takes to bust a move on the dance floor and win at it at the same time.

On Sunday, local group UPeepz won the 2016 World Hip Hop Dance Competition held at The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa.
The World Hip-Hop Dance Competition was created in 2002 by Hip Hop International, which aimed to 'unite the world of hip-hop through dance'.
The group, which has only been established five years ago, is a professional dance crew based in UP Diliman. According to their Facebook page, they started out as a collective of dancers coming from different high schools until some of its members eventually studied in the university they are based in.
Despite being a rookie dance troupe, they joined various local competitions to get their names out there until they were able to host their own show which happened a year after their inception.
The team is not just known as a dance organization that caters only to UP Diliman students but also to outsiders who have a passion for dancing.
On the recently-concluded competition, UPeepz had the highest score of 8.69 for the MegaCrew Division. They were followed closely by the South Korean-based group Lock 'n LOL with a score of 8.37 and New Zealand-based troupe The Royal Family with a score of 8.29.

UPeepz also won the World Supremacy Battlegrounds Competition, another international dance competition, last year which was held in Australia.
However, the group is not the first to win the international competition. In 2008, another local dance group won but in a different category. The Philippine All-Stars brought glory to the country by winning in the Adult Crew category, which they also did the following year but in breakdancing.-Kami Media
