Terrified mom finds daughters’ bedroom streaming on the Internet via hacked security cam

The whole story started when one woman, Shelby Ivies, came across free online app Live Camera Viewer and discovered some suspicious images of a little girl’s bedroom.

Feeling that something was wrong, she posted a warning on a Facebook group for mothers, which eventually was read by Jennifer, a mother from Houston, who was horrified to discover that the bedroom in the footage belonged to her two 8-year-old daughters. Someone had hacked into the webcam in their room and was streaming it online for everyone to see.

Just imagine how many strangers had been watching Jennifer’s daughters while they dressed, slept, played, etc. Later, the terrified family found out that everything had started when one of the daughters used the name of an unprotected server to play a computer game with friends. This allowed hackers to track down the home’s IP address, access their modem, and link it to the security cameras throughout the house.

Nowadays, many children like playing online games with people they hardly know or don’t know at all. This message Jenifer is sending to every parent.
