- A shark got stranded on a beach in Spain
- It was instantly surrounded by people who wished to take selfies with it, which could have led to injuries to the people or could have prevented the shark from being rescued
- The rescuers had to put up a perimeter around the shark so they could drag it back to the water
A baby shark got stranded on a beach in Bolnuevo, Spain, as people gathered around it to take selfies.
A Red Cross coordinator had to put a perimeter around the shark to help it get back to the sea.
‘First we saw the fin and we quickly began to clear the swimming area to avoid any possible incidents. Once the animal was completely on the sand, we established a perimeter around it as there were people who wanted to get a hold of it to take photos,’ said the coordinator.
The shark was pushed back into the water and swam away in good health.
Reports indicate strong winds, which might have been the cause of the shark being thrown on the shore.
