President Rodrigo Duterte warned the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) that he can do 10 times better than them once the terrorist group intrudes the country.
In Duterte’s speech in Malacañang Palace on Monday, August 15, he tackled the terrorist group’s brutal killings in the Middle East and Europe and said that he will not let it happen to the country.
He said: "I'm just warning people na huwag ninyong sobrahan (do not go too far) because I would never, never, never allow my country to be destroyed by simply terrorism at itong droga (and drugs). Hindi talaga ako payag (I will not allow it).”
Duterte mentioned the group’s “barbaric practice” of cutting people’s throats in front of the world and said that if they do that to the country’s people, they will also “bring the worst out of me.” He added: "So bale, tabla tayo diyan (So we are on the same ground to that front), because if you can do it, I can do it 10 times better than you, definitely."
The president also stated how ISIS’ brutal practices have veered away from any political or religious ideology. He said that the terrorist group has no political ideology and that that “they don’t have any concept of what really God is.”
“You maim people, you kill them, and women who refuse to have sex with them, they simply burn them," he said. He then warned the terrorists not to go too far and emphasized that he will not allow such terrorism to destroy the country, as well as drugs.
Days before the president’s warning, he claimed that some followers of ISIS from another country have been visiting several parts of Mindanao to radicalize the people there. - Kami Media
