- Bongbong Marcos filed an election protest against the Comelec and Smartmatic after leni Robredo was declared as the winner for the vice-presidential race
- A purported witness backed out as one after she discovered that she never issued an affidavit as witness for Marcos, nor signed one
- Rodriguez, Marcos psokespoerson, denied the allegations
Vice presidential hopeful Bongbong Marcos may be looking at gloomy days ahead after one of their purported witnesses backed out and revealed that the signature on the affidavit was not hers.
Myra Nacalaban Laude, Lapu Lapu City, Cebu, said that she never executed an affidavit. Worse was that upon close scrutiny, she discovered that the signature wasn’t hers.
After Laude’s declaration, Marcos camp, through Vic Rodriguez, Marcos’ spokesperson, said that they wouldn’t do such a thing because to begin with, Marcos filed the case to seek the truth. Rodriguez further dispelled the allegation that they produced a fake affidavit just to strengthen the evidence for the protest filed.
“Why will we do that? It is not going to advance or promote the election protest of Senator Marcos,” said Rodriguez.
“In fact the reason why the election protest was filed by Senator Marcos is the search for truth. Now you cannot find the truth by employing lies,” Rodriguez explained further.
Not contented about rebuffing the claims of Laude, the camp of Marcos pointed a finger to the direction of the Liberal Party, claiming that counter operations are being conducted in Cebu which is why said things are happening.
Bongbong Marcos filed an election protest against the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and Smartmatic after Vice President Leni Robredo was declared as the winner for the vice presidential race.
Robredo exceeded Marcos’ vote by around 260,000, a number substantial enough, but for Marcos, said lead wasn’t exactly huge, which was why he filed the case. – SD, Kami Media
