- A video showing a Jesus Christ statue opening and closing its eyes inside a church has gone viral
- The video was taken inside a church in Mexico and women could be heard in the background saying their prayers
- Reports say that sculptors, video editors, priests and paranormal experts did not find any proof that the video was doctored
A footage showing a statue of a crucified Jesus Christ opening and closing its eyes inside a Catholic Church in Mexico has swept the online community and baffled viewers about its authenticity.
The video begins with a curious churchgoer filming the interior of the church while people can be heard in the background praying. As the camera focuses on the statue of Jesus in front, the statue appears to be opening its eyes and then closing them after a few seconds.
According to a paranormal expert, he and other paranormal specialists, as well as video editors, scultptors and priests have analyzed the footage for several weeks. He said that they were not able to prove that the video was doctored.
However, the Catholic Church officials in the diocese refused to acknowledge the authenticity of the footage.
The online community is also divided on the issue. Many are saying that the video has been edited and that special effects were added in the footage.
“Disgusting hoax. Lord, forgive them for they know not what they do,” one netizen said.
“Right, so the camera guy pans in and then it opens its eyes... Wow, almost like a movie rather than a natural occurrence. This is what happens when retarded religious people try to fake things,” another netizen commented.
Some netizens also pointed out that the video could have been staged and that it might not actually be showing an actual statue but an actor who was opening and closing his eyes.
However, there are also some viewers who think that the footage is the real deal and that it truly shows an actual miracle.
What do you think? Is this a genuine miracle or a giant hoax?
