16 y.o. old girl, Carolina Peña, was a contestant on Ecuador’s Got Talent. On this episode, she performed a song in an audition for the judges.

Do you believe in God?”, — actress Maria Fernanda Rios, a judge on the show, asked Peña.

"No", — Peña replied. The actress then told Peña that she will never be successful without God.

Actress Paola Farias, the another judge, asked Peña, “Why don’t you believe in God? I’m curious.” When Peña stated she simply doesn’t believe in God, Farias asked her, “So where do we come from?

Wendy Vera, the third judge, then tells the girl that all some people have is the love of God.

The girl’s father agreed with judges, adding that he hopes his daughter will learn and change her beliefs.

But he final judge, actor Fernando Villarroel, refused to join in the discussion, saying, “I believe that religion or belief is one thing and artistic talent it is another thing.

When this debate ended, judges clarified that they were not discriminating, but simply providing advice to a young woman.

Despite the controversy, Peña made it through to the next round of judging.
