Former President and now Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has confirmed on Wednesday that she will be named as Deputy House Speaker for the 17th congress.
The announcement has been made during Arroyo's visit at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) in Quezon City.

The president said that she was nominated by the Central Luzon bloc.
The former president was detained in the government-owned hospital for four years for corruption charges until the Supreme Court's ruling clearing the former president of the allegations.
Arroyo went to VMMC with former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo to donate dialysis machines when she made the announcement.
Meanwhile, 'netizens' are quick to call out the announcement saying that the former President has continuously been performing magic tricks for the past few weeks.
