HIGHLIGHT: After more than 20 years in show business, mostly landing supporting roles in both TV and film, actor Dominic Ochoa finally gets to stretch his acting prowess as a superhero and lead character in the Kapamilya Network’s new fantasy series “My Super D.”
In the show, Ochoa will play the father of child actor Marco Masa, which he says is a role close to his heart.
“Actually kaya ko nagugustuhan rin ito kasi nagkataon na tatay din ako. Nakaka-relate ako nang bongga,” he said in the grand presscon for My Super D held at the Dolphy Theater on April 12.
(Actually, the reason I am enjoying this role is because I am a father as well. I can totally relate to it.)
About his long-overdue break in the industry after more than two decades, Ochoa says he has always been thankful for all the roles he had been given, whether big or small.
Ochoa said during the press conference, “Everyone’s saying to me nga, ‘Dom, ang tagal mo. We’re happy na ito na yung big break mo. Alam mo, never na pumasok sa utak ko na itong Super D, ako ang bida dito. Para lang isa itong role na ibinigay sa akin, it’s not about the things that are given to you."
(“Everyone’s saying to me, ‘Dom, you’ve been an actor for so long. We’re happy that you finally got this big break. You know what, I never let it get in my head that I’m the lead character here in Super D. I treat it just like any other role, it’s not about the things that are given to you.”)
My Super D will air weekdays starting on April 18, before TV Patrol.
