– A lot of people noticed that some of Olympians are covered in strange large red dots all over their bodies
– The answer came way more simple than someone might thought – “circles” are marks from cupping
– Learn what it is in the post below
During this Olympic games in Rio people noticed that some of athletes have red holes all over their backs and shoulders.
Some thought it was some sort of conspiracy while some people have been making jokes about it.
The holes are leftover marks from 'cupping' - a form of therapy where heated cups are placed on the skin.
The heated cups are made using lighting flammable liquid in a glass cup, which is then stuck on the body (usually the back).
As soon as the flame goes out, the temperature-drop creates suction which latches the cups onto your body.
They stick around for around four days.
Anyhow, athletes are undergoing cupping therapy to ease the pains they sustain as a result of competition.
