- A woman was attacked with a hammer in Dublin in broad daylight
- The assailant hit her with a hammer and tried to kick her head in when she fell down
- She has been rushed to the hospital and has yet to press charges
This woman was attacked with a hammer when she was leaving a fast food restaurant in Dublin, Ireland. Witnesses say the woman was leaving the joint when a man exited a car and jumped her with what seemed to be a claw hammer. The woman tried to defend herself but to no avail.
After attempting to strike the woman multiple times, the assailant landed a successful hit after which she fell to the ground where he tried to kick her head in. He swiftly got back into the car and drove off.
"He ran at the woman and swung what looked like a small claw hammer two or three times until he made contact, her hands were raised,” says a witness.
The witness added: "She then fell to the ground where the man tried to kick but missed, so he stood on her head two times and jumped back into the car. They then drove off."
Another witness added that it seemed the woman was acquainted with the attacker because she was heard yelling his name as he sped off.
"When I got close to observe the victim she had a gaping hole in the left side of her head above her ear. The First Response guys were wrapping the wound but the woman seemed highly disorientated and calling the name of her attacker,” said another witness.
The witness sat by the woman as she phoned her son and explained to him what happened.
The victim has yet to form an official complaint of assault.
