The people expected a reunion in the ‘The Voice Philippines’ stage but Bamboo and Sarah Geronimo surprised everyone on ASAP last Sunday, August 7.
The two sang the popular hit of the band Lukas Graham ‘7 years,’ during a segment in the show.
The production number started in a dim setting where the two were seated in the middle of the stage. Accompanied by the band studio and a cello player, they put a spin to the track when they performed a duet.

During the end of the performance, they belted out high notes that amazed the audience and earned them a round of applause. The track which was originally performed by the Danish soul-pop band was released on September 2015. Its official music video has now reached 322 million views on YouTube.
Fans at home also reacted positively on their performance.
Bamboo Mañalac, more popularly known for his mononym Bamboo, is still a judge on the current season of the singing competition, ‘The Voice Kids PH,’ – a spinoff for younger contestants. Geronimo, on the other hand, took a leave from the show and was replaced by Mega star Sharon Cuneta.

The singer-songwriter was originally the lead singer of the local band, Rivermaya. Later on, he started his own group named after him. Their hits were ‘Tatsulok,’ ‘Noypi,’ and ‘Much Has Been Said’ among others before they disbanded. In 2012, he decided to release his own album.
Meanwhile, Sarah Geronimo decided to perform regularly on the Sunday musical variety show instead of sharing her opinions as a coach in the competition. According to her, she still feels unsettled about mentoring other people and would rather focus more on her craft.
Since then, the Popstar Princess has released the song ‘Tala’ under VIVA Records. This is the first music video she released from her latest album entitled ‘The Great Unknown.’

This wasn’t the first time for the two to perform together. Their renditions of ‘You and Me’ by Lifehouse, ‘True Colors,’ and ‘Just Give Me a Reason’ were applauded and shared on different social media sites.
