After President Rodrigo Duterte released his list of local government officials, judges, policemen, and soldiers who are allegedly involved in illegal drugs, Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno wrote to the President to express her concern over the controversial list.
According to Supreme Court (SC) spokesperson Theodore Te, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II personally received Sereno’s letter on Monday morning. Te said that the letter was "articulating her concerns over the public declaration made by the President."
The media is set to be given a copy of the letter once its release is cleared by the president through Justice Secretary Aguirre and the Chief Justice.
President Duterte released his list on Sunday morning, with names including seven judges:
Judge Mupas, Dasmariñas, Cavite
Judge Reyes, Baguio City
Judge Savilo, RTC Branch 13, Iloilo City
Judge Casiple, Kalibo, Aklan
Judge Rene Gonzales, MTC
Judge Navidad, RTC Calbayog City

Duterte, in Camp Panacan in Davao City, gave a 24-hour ultimatum to the named persons in the list and said that they must report to their mother units. He also ordered a cancellation of all their firearm licenses.
However, a “Judge Natividad” that was tagged in the list has been dead since 2008, according to reports. Without first name provided, a Judge Natividad from Calbayog City who presided over RTC Branch in Calbayog City was identified as Judge Roberto Natividad.
Judge Natividad was killed according to news reports in January 2008. He was reportedly the 15 judge killed since 1999. He was one of the two lawyers in the lawyers list with the surname Natividad in the Supreme Court website. The other was saidto be residing in La Union. - Kami Media
