- When President Rodrigo Duterte was still running for the highest position in the Philippines, Mocha Uson was one of the die-hard supporters who displayed loyalty
- The singer and dancer created her own page in Facebook ‘MOCHA USON BLOG’ where she shows her constant support and faith in the current administration
- However, her controversial statements and remarks that are lacking in evidence and sources drew flak from many netizens and professionals
1. MOCHA USON BLOG IS A BLOG AND THEREFORE IS NOT CREDIBLE
Need we say more? Her Facebook page says it all! Blog pages are not considered as credible sources for they contain the personal sentiments or opinions of the writer, or in Mocha’s case- the blogger. She may be aware of what she is doing but awareness does not equate to being able to provide information with evidence. Let’s set aside all our hate but let’s learn to admit that Uson is a good dancer and singer but not a good writer.
2. MOCHA THINKS THE PRESIDENT IS NEVER WRONG
We all know that supporting a person has its limits- you should be able to draw the line between supporting something right from tolerating a wrong. But then again, Uson is a Duterte Die-Hard Supporter (DDS) so she will support the President’s remarks regardless if it was offensive to a woman just like her. Raffy Tima’s wife was catcalled by the President so it was natural for Tima to defend her wife. However, Uson is a DDS so she will show more care to the President than to a woman, like her, who was violated.
3. MOCHA BELIEVES THAT DUTERTE’S PRESIDENT WAS PART OF A PROPHECY
Here we go again with Uson’s DDS privilege that makes her oh-so-loyal to the President. She believes that the President was really destined to be the leader of the country. No matter how many times Duterte cat-called or slut-shamed women, she is still a DDS.
4. MOCHA ADVOCATES FOR COOPERATION AND UNITY
When the President won the elections, Uson urged the Filipinos to stop hating the President and instead help him in running the country. She is such a loyal supporter that she wrote a letter to Vice President Leni Robredo asking for the VPs cooperation as well. However, Uson’s tone in her letter seemed to be not very respectful at all when she warned Robredo to not take the leadership from her beloved President. Moreover, she threatened the Vice President that they (DDS) will remove the her from her office. It all escalated quickly, right? She really thought she has that kind of power.
5. MOCHA WILL CALL YOU BIAS IF YOU HATE THE PRESIDENT
She really thinks she knows everything- whether you are biased or not, whether you are bayaran (paid) or not. When there are posts or news articles against the President, she will accuse the writer for being biased. When you are supporting the President, she will say that you are just covering up your hate. Uson maybe thinks that it is her and Duterte against the world.
6. MOCHA EXPOSES THE TRUTH BUT SELECTIVELY
Uson clearly does not respect the opinion of others but expects them to respect hers. Her supporters and readers may think that she is the true crusader for truth and justice. Well, maybe they should keep that thought to themselves.
7. MOCHA USON IS NOT A JOURNALIST, PLEASE
Mocha may be staunchly advocating for the change that the President has promised to us through her Facebook posts but this does not make her a journalist. In her Facebook page, there are trending news that are posted but just like her blog, they are not credible, too. How hard is it to check if what you are sharing is true or fake? Please, someone stop Mocha Uson from dreaming that she is a journalist because being a good journalist does not happen overnight, or in her case when the person she supports is a President.
8. MOCHA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT WOMEN OR RELIGION
She clearly likes to break the norms- not easily scared by the Catholic church, does not care about what other people think, and does not care about other women. The President is known for his abusive remarks to women but Uson does not care so she supports him anyway. –Kami Media
