Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres has always been close to the heart of Filipinos. All through the years, the Puerto Rican beauty has never forgotten Filipinos and she even craves for Filipino food.

In an Instagram post, the youngest crowned Miss Universe (she was just 18 when she bagged the crown) said how she misses the Philippines.
She regards the country as her second home and she even learned how to speak Filipino.
She showed off her Filipino stash which consists of dried mangoes coated with yummy chocolate, the classic Philippine polvoron, and the very prominent Philippine flag.
Torres also expressed her excitement with regards to the Philippines hosting the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant next year.
Having spent more than five years in the country, it is understandable why the Philippines will always occupy a spot in this former beauty queen’s heart.
In 1995, Dayanara Torres and Aga Muhlach starred in “Basta’t Kasama Kita” (As Long As I’m With You). It was a story of a princess who was in a royal visit to the Philippines, but who felt so trapped in the life she was leading that she escaped her guards.
As she didn’t know where to go, she bumped into Aga Muhlach, a jeepney driver, who took her in. Ashe hid her identity from Aga, and stayed at his place, where they eventually fell in love.

Dayanara was tagged as the “Dancing Queen” of the Philippines and she performed regularly in various variety shows of ABS-CBN.
Today, at 41, Dayanara has two children. She was previously married to Marc Anthony, with whom her marriage ended in 2004. – SD, Kami Media
