Actress Julia Barretto shared her excitement after being cast for the film adaptation of ‘Vince and Kath’ which was popularized on social media website, Facebook.
The story that started the trend of socialserye will have a slight revision on its movie title, becoming ‘Vince, Kath and James.’ Barretto will be working with actors Joshua Garcia and Ronnie Alonte on the upcoming project.
The 19-year old could not help but compare her new movie to her former roles in her teleseryes – claiming that it would be a ‘dream come true.’ Barretto explained that she has been eyeing characters for a romantic-comedy genre for a long time already, and was delighted to finally have the opportunity to do it.
Moreover, Barretto quipped that she looks forward on how Vince and Kath’s fans would react after seeing the story play on screen – with the cast giving life to its characters.
But it looks like Barretto has her hands full as she is also busy taping for an upcoming series, ‘The Second Wife.’
The young actress said that her first day of shooting was fun and a success; describing the set to be ‘very light.’ She also indulged the media with further details by introducing her character to have Ian Veneracion as her father and JK Labajo for a brother. Barretto was all praises for her co-stars. In addition, the actress would be portraying a ballerina – the reason behind her frequent visits to the gym and her efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Viewers were told to expect a different side of Barretto as she referred to her role on the series to be ‘different’ from her previous ones. Unsure of how to clearly put her feelings into words, the actress resorted to simply hoping for fans to witness it themselves when the show comes out.
The much-awaited TV series will also feature Bea Alonzo, Iza Calzado, Enchong Dee, and more.

The online romantic series ‘Vince and Kath’ was written by Jenny Ruth Almocera. She posted the story on Facebook, which consists solely of screenshots of exchanges of SMS and chat between the characters. Its success prompted for ABS-CBN to release a book of the same title last summer.
