During the National Security Council (NSC) meeting in Malacañang on Wednesday, President Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte spoke about how beautiful Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo is.
“Ang biro nya (Duterte) maganda ang Vice President natin (He said in jest that our Vice President is beautiful),” Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II narrated.
The justice secretary – who took his oath as a new member of the PDP-Laban at Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III’s office – also described the atmosphere of the high-level security meeting as good and happy.

“Nagbibiro si President Duterte (President Duterte cracked a joke),” Aguirre stated.
Senator Ralph Recto, the new Senate Minority Leader, also commented on how the President changed during the NSC meeting from being serious and focused to funny and light-hearted. He also described the way Duterte presided over the meeting as educational but entertaining.
Recto also praised Duterte’s skills in summarizing the points of the meeting and in navigating the different issues and topics.
“This guy’s thought process is good. He knows when to summarize points and where to shepherd the discussion,” Recto explained.

Recto added that the NSC meeting was almost five hours long. But thanks to Duterte’s perfect comedic timing, the mood during the meeting was humorous and amusing.
The NSC meeting was also attended by the four previous presidents of the country: Benigno Aquino III, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Joseph Estrada and Fidel V. Ramos. According to Recto, Duterte likes to hear the input of other people and that he appreciates when the attendees of the meeting share their views and expert opinion in different matters.
Recto also expects the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) to be revived by Duterte in the near future to help him discuss and study various policies. - Kami Media
