At 1,000,000,000 Chinese Yuan (£113 million/$149 million), this mansion is the most expensive home ever sold in mainland China. The 1,663-acre estate is namedTaohuayuan, which translates to "Utopia" or "Peace Blossom Land," located on a private island on the city of Suzhou’s Dushu Lake.
Eastern tradition meets modern decadence in the swanky interiors, which amount to 72,441 square feet. There are 32 bedrooms, a cavernous wine cellar, and a lakeside swimming pool. Its postcard-worthy gardens, which boast a mist-coated pond, replicate the Classical Gardens of Suzhou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The mansion, located in Suzhou in the Jiangsu Province, is just three-years-old, but it's one of the most impressive offerings on Sotheby's. Just look inside.
