VIDEOS: 5 Movie trailers that rocked Comic-Con

The annual Comic-Con International in San Diego, California is the most anticipated event gathering for movie, comic book, fantasy, science fiction, anime, and gaming geeks from all over the world. It is also an event where the most anticipated future blockbusters release their newest clips and trailers.

The 2016 Comic-Con was no exception. Here are five of the most exciting trailers that came out during the event which rocked the entire geekdom!

1.) “Justice League”

“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” underperformed both critically and commercially. Many fans and critics were disappointed with that movie’s bleak and dark tone.

Director Zack Snyder has promised to bring more fun and humor to the superhero team-up movie: “Justice League,” which will come out in 2017. Its first trailer in Comic-Con seems to confirm Snyder's promise. It is the first time people will see Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman  and Cyborg team-up on the big screen.

2.) “Doctor Strange”

Captain America is a soldier, Iron Man is a techie billionaire, and Thor is the “god of thunder.” Doctor Strange is a unique addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to his powers which rely on magic and the supernatural. The magical superhero will be played by Benedict Cumberbatch, famous for playing Sherlock Holmes in the series called “Sherlock.”

3.) “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”

Many fans felt sad when the Harry Potter movie franchise ended with “The Deathly Hallows: Part 2.” Fortunately, author J.K. Rowling has decided to further flesh out her fantasy world by writing a new movie set before Harry Potter was born. Academy Award winner for best actor Eddie Redmayne takes over the popular franchise as Newt Scamander.

4.) “Kong: Skull Island”

Godzilla was received well by both critics and fans in 2014. The makers of that movie are now moving on to another iconic giant monster: King Kong. The filmmakers decided to significantly increase the size of King Kong because he will be facing off with Godzilla in a future movie.

5.) “Wonder Woman”

Past female superhero movies have failed, such as Halle Berry’s “Catwoman” and Jennifer Garner’s “Elektra” movie. The queen of all female superheroes, Wonder Woman, will appear in her debut solo movie in 2017 and its Comic-Con trailer has been received well by fans. It stars Gal Gadot, who received praise for her cameo appearance in “Batman v. Superman,” and Chris Pine from the “Star Trek” franchise. -Kami Media
