Multiple charges filed vs policemen over woman's brutal death

HIGHLIGHT: Four policemen and one civilian were charged with murder, kidnapping with serious illegal detention at Las Pinas City Prosecutor's Office on April 11. The suspects were allegedly behind the brutal murder of a woman who went missing last Monday, April 4.

The body of Adora Lazatin was seen floating last Friday inside a drum. Her feet and hands were bound while her face was plastered, she was also naked.

Suspects of her brutal murder were PO1 Mark Jay Delos Santos of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Inspector Edgie Jacobe of the PNP Regional Public Safety, Po1 Edmon Rosales, Former Bureau of Corrections police Domingo Balagkit and civilian Empire Salas.

According to the son of the Lazatin, her mother was only supposed to meet up with their property buyer and never returned. His father who is an overseas worker went home and identified his dead wife's body after she was found.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) went on surveillance along South Super Highway after ATM transactions in the name of the victim were traced. Each day, 50 thousand pesos were withdrawn by the suspects until they caught Delos Santos using Lazatin's ATM.

The NBI Anti Organized Transnational Division filed multiple charges, while the other suspects named Insp. Jacobe as mastermind who was formerly Lazatin's neighbor, according to an ABS CBN report.
