The phenomenal loveteam Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza has made another milestone when their movie “Imagine You and Me” earned a total of P120 million on Sunday, July 17, making it the highest grossing Filipino movie of the year.
Their first movie together was shot in Italy, the romantic comedy film also starred by Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Irma Adlawan, Yayo Aguila, William Martinez, Luis Alandy, Elijah Alejo, Cacai Bautista, and Cia Cortez.
Michael Tuviera’s film earned P21.5 million on its first release last July 13, dominating the box office with the support of the ‘Aldub nation’, the loveteam’s fans.
According to reports, On July 18, GMA Film’s President Annette Gozon-Abrogar was asked about the film’s figures but then she opted not to disclose the information. The film is a collaboration between GMA Films, APT Entertainment, and M-Zet Productions.
A reliable source then disclosed with PEP’s contributor that “Imagine You and Me” has earned as of Sunday, a total of P120 million, earning more than P30 million on July 16 and another P30 million on Sunday.
The source also revealed that the box office gross of the film today, July 22, will be at least P150 million, reaching its break even point for the film’s producers after over a month shoot in Italy.

Maine Mendoza plays “Gara”, an overseas Filipino worker in Italy who searches for her one true love, while Alden Richards plays “Andrew”, a brokenhearted medical student who does not believe in destiny.
The movie continues to be screened in 187 cinemas nationwide.
Maine and Alden is known for their famous loveteam in Eat Bulaga’s segment ‘Kalyeserye’, where Maine plays as “Yaya Dub” with her three ‘lolas’ played by comedians Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, and the controversial Paolo Ballesteros after being suspended for six months in the longest running noon time show. - AA, Kami Media
