- The launch of Victoria Court’s Space Wars Room was attended by Angelina and wife, Joey
- The hotel heir announced his transformation early this month
- King says that they “want to show the people that it’s okay to be you”
Angelina Mead King, formerly Ian Angelo King, has made her first public appearance after coming out as a trans-woman early this month. Angelina Mead King is the husband of host and model, Joey Mead-King, as well as is the eldest son of the late owner of the Victoria Court chain of motels, Archimedes “Archie” King.
Angelina, as the current managing director of Victoria Court, stepped out in public last Wednesday, July 13, during the launch of the Space Wars Room by Victoria Court.
The appearance was the first for Ian Angelo/Angelina King, who announced his transformation into a woman just this month, and who had earlier requested for privacy following the revelation.
Angelina had also refused prior requests for interviews by the media, only stating that for the mean time that she was unready, they could wait for her friend Tim Yap’s write-up about her transformation.
In an interview during the launch, King said that she felt freedom in being able to step out and be her. “I feel free. I feel me so that’s a good thing. You know, we just want to show the people that it’s okay to be you. It’s okay to act like yourself,” said the Victoria Court managing director.
Joey Mead-King, his wife, has nothing but support and love for Angelina and her transformation. They both attended the launch of Victoria Court’s newest line of customized-rooms. Angelina’s father, Archie King, inherited Victoria Court from his father, Angelo King.
Archie passed away in a helicopter crash in Batangas last year, when he and a group were caught in a storm during a flight from Puerto Galera. Of his father, Ian King said that, “[he was] my advisor, my supporter and my hero. I feel broken and lost without him. I’m glad our relationship was at its best. Now I’ll forever miss his love.”
