Pop star and American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez stunned her audience when she donned a magnificent, stained-glass themed cape styled by a proudly Filipino designer, Michael Cinco.
Michael Cinco, a renowned Filipino designer based in Dubai, has always been a subject of talks in the fashion world not only in the Philippines but all over the world. His intricate and out of this world creations have always been admired by fashionistas including this cape that will surely make your jaw drop.
This crystallized cape, worn by the equally dashing Jen, is inspired by the iconic medieval chapel Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, shared Cinco on his Instagram post. The cape is 20-feet long glazes with 10,000 Swarovski crystals that were scrupulously hand painted by more than 100 people. The crystals are lapped on hand-made silk embroidery.
The Impalpable Dream of Sainte-Chapelle took him and his team half a year to finish. The cape is included in Cinco's October 2015 collection.
Jennifer Lopez wore the Michael Cinco masterpiece when she performed her new single “Love Make the World Go Round” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The song is a collaboration with rapper and Tony Award recipient, Lin-Manuel Miranda which was made as a tribute to the victims of Orlando massacre that took place last month.
The Filipino designer has styled JLo on several fashion events and other occasions, and the most recent was during the American Music Award last 2015, where she wore a seemingly see-through overall.
Cinco's creations include Marian Rivera’s wedding dress and Julia Barretto’s ball gown during her debut.
