- PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa and PDEA officials destructed P1.77 billion worth of illegal drugs confiscated in Cagayan
- Dela Rosa showed his humorous side in a defense and sporting arms show where he was guest speaker
- He mentioned having shabu inside his shoes and poked fun at some officials present in the event
Despite uttering strong statements against illegal drug traffickers, Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa showed his humorous side in a defense and sporting arms show on Thursday in Mandaluyong City.
Dela Rosa was the guest of honor at the 24th AFAD Defense and Sporting Arms Show and delighted the crowd as he apologized for being late.
“Pasensiya na po at na-late ako. Supposed to be nandito ako 10 o'clock but I just came from Cavite. Nagsunog po kami doon ng maraming shabu, yung shabu na nahuli namin doon sa Claveria, Cagayan. Sinunog namin kanina kaya medyo high pa ako ngayon,” Dela Rosa said.
(I would like to apologize for being late. I was supposed to be here at 10 o’clock but I just came from Cavite. We burned many crystal mets, the mets we have confiscated in Claveria, Cagayan. We burned those a while ago that’s why I’m still kind of high.)
He, together with officials of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Aganecy (PDEA), burned confiscated illegal drugs worth P1.77 billion. Among drugs burned were 180 kilograms of shabu that was found buried inside a resort in Claveria, Cagayan, July 3.
“Sino gusto ng shabu? Kasi yung isa roon bago ko itinapon sa incinerator yung isang bag, may isa doon pala na-open. Pagtingin ko sa cellophane, nabuhos sa sahig, yung iba dito sa sapatos ko. Sino gusto kumuha sa sapatos ko? Ilang grams kaya yung nandito sa sapatos ko,” Dela Rosa humorously added.
(Who wants mets? One of the mets, before I threw one bag in the incinerator, was actually open. When I looked at the cellophane, it spilled on the ground, and some went inside my shoes. Who wants to get some in my shoes? I wonder how many grams is inside my shoes.)
Bato also joked around, mentioning Eastern Police District Head Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula of the district where the mall of the gun show was held, and said that Sapitula will be accountable if the district is raided, considering the number of firearms present.
He then turned his attention to Firearms and Explosives Office chief Sr. Supt. Cesar Binag and called him “incorruptible”, comparing to his “imperfections”, mentioning his attraction to beautiful ladies. - AA, Kami Media
