Pacquiao: no more absences if voted senator

After winning his much anticipated fight against Bradley, can the Filipino people expect as much commitment from Congressman Manny Pacquiao if he wins a seat in the senate?

In an ABS-CBN report, Pacquiao would like to assure his voters his full attendance.

''Kaya po ako natagalan magdesisyon is because of that. Kapag magdecide ako - although nag-decide na nga ako - ang inisip ko, kapag pumasok ako kailangan seryoso, walang absent, palaging papasok, dahil buong bansa ang responsibilidad mo."

(It took time for me to decide because of that. When I decide, although I've already decided, I realized that when I go to the senate, I have to be serious. No absences. I'll always be present because the whole country is my responsibility.)

The People's champ is currently running for a seat in the senate. However, public reaction towards his bid is divided, with some voters preferring to see the champ in a boxing match rather than in a senate session.

His statement referred to congress's records that Pacquiao only attended 7 session days, with three of those resulting only from excused absences, as reported by the Inquirer.
