Cebu City in State of Emergency due to water shortage

Cebu City is under a state of emergency due to water shortage, as declared by Mayor Michael Rama.

The Metro Cebu Water District (MCWD) said that the water deficit had worsened from losing 15, 000 cubic meters per day last Monday to 19, 000 cubic meters per day as of Wednesday.

According to Rappler, MCWD would buy close to "10, 000 cubic meters per day from bulk water suppliers."

With the dry spell cast over Metro Cebu, it was advised to conserve water, especially from 10 pm to 5 am.
