Veteran actor Dick Israel was all smiles during his “surprise” visit to long-time friends, actors-turned-politicians Bong Revilla and Jinggoy Estrada last Sunday.
Dick had the chance to work with Bong in the movie "Manong Gang: Ang Kilabot ang Maganda" while he was able to work with Jinggoy in the movie "Katas ng Saudi."
The surprise visit was planned by Bong’s wife who is now Bacoor mayor Lani Mercado. It was also Lani who posted a photo of the three action stars on her Facebook account.
"Ang bisita namin....Surprise!" Lani said in one of her posts.
Dick can be seen smiling and in high spirits as he posed with Bong and Jinggoy. He was also seen wearing a shirt that said: "Bong Jinggoy walang iwanan, kaibigan ng bayan."
Both Jinggoy and Bong are currently detained at the Philippine National Police CustodialCenter in Camp Crame for allegedly being involved in the pork barrel scam.
The surprise visit came one week after Dick’s Caloocan house caught fire.
Meanwhile, the 57-year-old actor told the media that he was overwhelemed and surprised with all the help he has been getting since the fire.
"Marami pa palang tao na nagmamahal sa akin (A lot of people still love me)," he said.
Dick spent around 40 years of his life in the film industry. He is believed to have starred in 200 movie titles. He is considered to not only as one the most recognizable actors but also as one of the pillars of Philippine cinema.
The former actor revealed that he was able to provide for his family, referring to himself as a good provider.
"Pinagawan ko ng bahay ang wife ko at ang mga anak ko (I had a house built for my wife and kids). I'm what they call a good provider," Dick said.
That is why when a photo of him posted by netizen trended online, most of his fans could not believe that it was indeed Dick. Thankfully, good Samaritans were there to extended their helping hands.
