Senator Tito Sotto has once again been an item of controversy when he made a sexist remark to a woman in an episode of Eat Bulaga's Sugod-bahay segment.

This happened during last Saturday’s episode of Eat Bulaga where Senator Sotto and his co-hosts Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola were interviewing the winner of the segment.

The woman shared to them how she was taken advantage of by her husband’s friends while she was drunk.

The senator responded by making a remark to the woman for his misfortune. He somewhat blamed her for drinking too much and wearing short shorts, the reason why she was harassed in a way.

“Kababae mong tao pa-shot shot ka?” [You are a woman, and you're drinking?], Sotto told the woman while he seemed to be blaming the woman why she ended up being harassed. Jose Manalo added a remark, saying that he supposed she was wearing shorts.

"Ano suot mo? Naka-shorts ka 'no?" (What were you wearing then? You're probably wearing shorts.), Jose said.

These remarks did not escape the people’s attention. It even enraged the netizens who called out Senator Sotto for his victim-blaming remark on live television.

One Facebook user narrated the particular conversation in her status and exclaimed that wearing shorts doesn’t mean that she is asking for “it”, and by “it”.

Aside from her, many people expressed their anger towards Tito’s sexist comment. There a number of them who said that he is a Senator, a public figure, and that he should watch what he utters on live TV.
