- The Voice Kids Saturday episode encountered some problems with Bamboo's chair; it was not turning
- The malfunction was noticed during Kyle Mallari's performance
- A lot of people said that Kyle looked and sounded like Darren Espanto
It was on July 9’s episode of The Voice Kids when the young man who likes singing Argentine tango mesmerized Bamboo that not even a technical problem involving his chair would stop him from ‘turning’ around for the ‘Skycraper’ performer.
An aspiring Darren Espanto look alike got the attention of Bamboo on Saturday’s episode of The Voice Kids Philippines, but his chair did not cooperate as it did not turn around when he pressed the button.
Kyle Mallari has been noticed to have a resemblance to Darren Espanto, a runner up in the previous season of The Voice Kids. A lot would also agree that he even sounds just like the runner-up.
Thus, it wouldn’t be surprising that Bamboo would press the button. However, his chair did not even after repeatedly pressing it. Thankfully, Bamboo did not let that stop him. He stood up and faced Kyle while the young performer continued singing.
Bamboo, apparently, was the only one who turned.
When it was time to share their thoughts, Bamboo told Kyle that although he started shaky, he made up for it in the richness and color of his voice.
"Yung umpisa mo, you were shaky, I thought you were having a difficult time even with the time, like a rhythmic lead. Parang wala ka doon. (Your start was shaky...It was like you weren't there). But when the song reached up, peaked up, I liked what I heard. Maganda yung richness, yung kulay ng boses mo (The richness, the color in your voice is beautiful)," the coach said.
Coach Lea Salonga also commented that the change in Kyle’s voice can be attributed to his growing up as a teen. On the other hand, coach Sharon Cuneta said that Bamboo can definitely do something about his voice and that that he knows Bamboo can work with Kyle to develop his singing skills.
Of course, Kyle was more than grateful to be part of the Kamp Kawayan. Who wouldn’t be?
