President Duterte is quickly making the necessary changes during his first 100 days in office beginning with some key appointments in all branches of government. While most of the Cabinet appointees are close friends, high school, and college classmates, President Duterte also tapped those who helped him campaign during the elections.
One example is Katherine ‘Kat’ de Castro who is now the Department of Tourism (DOT) undersecretary for tourism advocacy and public affairs under Secretary Wanda Corazon Teo.
Kat is the daughter of ‘TV Patrol’ news anchor and former Vice President Noli de Castro and former ABS-CBN Current Affairs executive Arlene de Castro. She was a former host of the travel show ‘Trip na Trip’ and owns a production house – Bayan Productions. She was also a host for ‘Magandang Gabi, Bayan’ and a reporter for ‘TV Patrol’.
