A frail 15-year old girl was found when she was rescued in a house located at a remote farm in Brgy. Tangkaran, Gerona in Tarlac after being raped and abused.
The victim, who will be called Nene, shared that she was living with her aunt in Paniki, Tarlac when she was invited to ride the motorcycle of one of her aunt’s visitors. She was informed that they were going to buy chicken in the nearby market.
She was not able to return home for she was brought to the house of the suspect's employer where the heinous crimes happened.
Superintendent Ariel Red, Chief of Police of Gerona, Tarlac, reported that a knife was pointed at the victim while she was being raped.
“Tinakpan ang mukha niya, tinutukan ng kutsilyo, at ni-rape nga raw po siya,” he said.
(Her face was covered, then a knife was pointed at her and she was raped.)
According to Red, the girl looked frail and exhausted when they saw her.
Nene’s mother could not believe and accept the tragic incident that happened to her daughter.
“Iyak na po ako ng iyak. Nung sinabi nya na ni-rape daw po siya ng dalawang beses, di ko na po alam kung ano ang gagawin ko. Sa nerbyos ko po, halos muntikan na akong mamatay,” she said.
(I kept on crying. When she said she was raped two times, I did not know what to do. I got so nervous; I almost felt like dying.)
The report also revealed that the suspect, with the alias Jay, attempted to escape but in the follow up operation by the local police, the suspect was found on a motorcycle he stole from his employer.
He was eventually cornered, and fired shots at the police instead of surrendering peacefully. An exchange of gunshots ensued between both parties, until the suspect was shot and killed.
Local authorities were also able to recover a .38 caliber pistol.
The police noted that recent incident should serve as a warning to others who plan on committing crime in their locality.
Although the police's current priority is fighting illegal drugs, cases involving abuse to minors will immediately be acted upon. Both are heinous crimes that should not be tolerated upon.
After the incident, the victim’s mother advocated to bring back the death penalty for heinous criminals.
