-Vice President Leni Robredo had her thanksgiving party at the Quezon City Circle on June 30
-The second female vice president of the Philippines told supporters to stand by her side for another six years
-Over 3000 well-wishers attended her simple gathering
Following her formal inauguration at the Quezon City Executive House, Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo, who is dubbed as the Nanay ng mga nasa laylayan (mother of the marginalized), expressed gratitude to her well-wishers during her thanksgiving party on June 30.
The 14 vice president of the Republic of the Philippines, in her 15-minute speech, said that she hopes to meet personally everyone who has helped in her VP journey.
“My office in Quezon City is open for all of you. Come visit me there so that I can get to know you,” the humble and poor-loving mother of those from fringes of society said with pure sincerity.

Urging supporters to stay with her in the next six years of her term, the former Camarines Sur representative told that her “one percent to vice president” she owed to them.
Meanwhile, after VP Robredo revealed how grateful she is to those who defended her against malicious issues thrown at her, she advised them at the same time to let go of the disruptive concerns brought by the electoral campaign.
More than 3,000 people went to Robredo’s modest event at the Quezon Memorial Circle. The gathering was organized for her supporters who have been part of her entire electoral campaign. Many were unable to attend her oath-taking ceremony earlier because only select people were allowed to join the simple, as many would describe it, ceremonial.
While the new vice president is thankful to those who supported her bid to win the country’s second highest position, she also asked the Filipino people to back her in her pursuit to bring the marginalized to new heights. Moreover, stay with her as she works on to alleviate poverty for the sake of a better society. - JR, Kami Media
